Whadiyvbeenupto

Hey lovelies,

So the last few days, well since I last blogged have been incredibly busy for me - most notably I went for a Dyslexia consultation and followed it up with an assessment that happened on Friday, £50 down but very worth it as I have now been diagnosed (if you want to put it like that) with Dyslexia. For about 3 years now I have been suspicious but that has all been answered, I guess this means a lot will be changing for me...well no actually, hell I have managed to get this far what's stopping me from getting what I want in my life - I will accept the support I'm offered gladly, but I'd like to try my hardest to not rely on it.

So yeah that happened.

I've also been working on prints for this weekends MCM (Comicon) in Birmingham, only managed to get a Tank Girl out in 2 versions, a full colour print and a greyscale version as a limited edition.

I also started doing Sketch Dailies whenever I can, yesterdays word was Barbarella - the 60's space hero played by Jane Fonda - she was an incredibly cool character to draw so I finished her up as a pin-up girl.
Check out @Sketch_Dailies.

I have also been hard at work sculpting a 5 inch(ish) caricature of myself in white plasticine, bloody good fun essentially making fun of myself - but I like to think I'm a good sport.
I'll be uploading this as a set on my Flickr account, so keep an eye on it!

My Flickr!

Well I guess that about wraps it up, I'll be back with news soon!

Edit - You may notice the blog's changed a tad, i'm working on a layout for it so this is just the template, also check out my twitter at @FiniteFibonacci.

AFK and other things (Feat. Distro Horizons Versus Galaximo's Army)

Greeting everyone!

I'll start with an apology - I am sorry for not updating this in a long time, but this doesn't mean that I have been slacking off.

Firstly I have been working on a game, voice acting specifically - the game is called Distro Horizons Versus Galaximo's Army, created by Kitatus Studios this game pages homage to old collectathon games like banjo Kazoee and Donkey Kong 64. The game is currently looking for funding on indiegogo (i'll pop a link down at the bottom of this paragraph) and is hopefully getting greenlit on Steam and available on Desura too.

The game is currently in Alpha 0.6 but is making leaps with each release, it's been a great project to work on and the fact I'm helping a friend with some of my University friends just makes this a bit sweeter. If you can afford to donate towards the cause that would be lush (and I'd love you very much), if not then follow and hype up the game to your homies!

In other news, I say news, the other stuff I have been doing recently mainly involves character design, I have to create a character every week, no story - just the look. it's been a rollercoaster of tough ideas and with 20 other people doing the same thing its difficult to make it original.

Here is a link to the set on my Flickr.

Right well, I have more designing to do and I want Subway so I'll leave it there bye y'all.

The British Animation Awards!

First off, Hi! Welcome to my blog!

Secondly I have been part of a team, consisting of folks from my Uni course, we were tasked to create an animated sting for the upcoming British Animation Awards - which we have indeed completed, now there is a process of sending it off for verification by the BAA society and then it'll be down to you guys to vote for it - so with help from my loyal fans we can win this!

The people I worked with are shown here:

100% Not Dead

Eyo,

Haven't updated for a while, nor do I have an excuse for why - well I have been settling back in at Stoke, I missed it here; gaming, friends and spending my student loan on comics and art supplies.

Tuesday coming up is my birthday, trouble is I will be a day into an animation competition, not really fussed about it - I am really excited to work in my first group animation project. We as a team have to create an animated sting for the BAA's (British Animation Awards) and the theme is sheep...yeah I know right. So we are jumping into a project with a few ideas already, on a subject that I have no idea about, should be fun!

We are also starting a new unit this semester called 'Cinema: Film Analysis' and to give a brief explanation:
This module's main theme is the textual analysis of films to find meanings or values
inherent in them. You will be trained in the basic skills of conducting close criticism.
You will explore, in particular, the implications of scrutinising the mise en scène
(“everything in front of the camera”), screenplay, sound design, and editing aspects
of films, in order to interpret meanings. You will become fluent in the shorthand and
terminology of film form for analysing film as a "text", so that you can then conduct a
textual analysis of a film’s formal qualities.

This also means I get to watch 2001: A Space Odyssey, for the millionth time...I bloody love that film.

Love all y'all!

 Gif's are back!

Back to Uni

So by this time next week i'll be back in Stoke getting ready for the new semester of fun and games in the world of animation, I am looking forward to this greatly, seriously I can't wait to get back to work making the good stuff. I also own a Wacom tablet now so I will be moving on to doing more digital animation than traditional - but I will definitely be carrying on with both in the long run.

It's been great being back home in Essex (that's a BIG statement about the place), but I saw the people I loved and it's been awesome catching up with friends and family - who are one in the same. I went to London with my Dad which was great, popped into the science museum for the first time in about 10 years, saw some awesome examples of engineering and art. After that we hit up some shops and had a few beers and talked about life and its oddities.

No artwork of my own to show this time, but I am still drawing and having a good time with it. Regardless of that, enjoy your day/night whenever you read this.

A shot from one of the installations in the science museum, it was really big.

Radeon Grey Screen Fix

So on my YouTube channel I popped a video up of a problem I was having with my GPU (HIS AMD 6970), I have been able to fix the problem since then but I've had a few people ask me how to fix the issue as it seems to be a driver problem more than a hardware issue.
